4-way reversing valves are used in reversible applications such as heat pumps or reversible air conditioning units and chillers.
The 4-way valve allows an inversion of the refrigeration cycle, changing from cooling mode in summer to heating mode in winter.
They are also used in heat pumps )air cooled) for de-frosting.
The cycle inversion is initiate by a small
solenoid pilot valve controlling the movement of a slider, which changes the direction of the refrigerant.
Designed for minimal pressure drop to allow higher system efficiencies.
4-way pilot valve uses high and low side refrigerant pressure to push and pull the main
valve slide for positive reversals at low pressure differentials.
Hermetic construction using high quality materials (
brass, copper, stainless steel) to eliminate external leakage for longer system life.
